Workshops related to WGIMT Goals

2019

Rediscovering pelagic biodiversity: Progress, promise, and challenges of metabarcoding of microbes to mammals.  This one day workshop will be held in association with the ICES 2019 Annual Science Conference on September 13, 2019 at the Svenksa-Massan Conference Centre (Gothenburg, Sweden).  Abstracts on a broad range of topics related to integrative morphological-molecular analysis of biodiversity are welcome!   More information is available at:  http://metazoogene.org/symposia/symposium2019

2018

The “First Advanced  Zooplankton Course – Morphological and Molecular Taxonomy of Marine Copepods” organised by Maria Grazia Mazzocchi was held on 22 October-2 November 2018 at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn  of Naples (SZN), Italy. This course provided advanced training on integrated morphological and molecular taxonomy of marine zooplankton to 20 participants from 16 countries (researchers, technicians, and PhD students). The focus was on copepods and the aim was to improve and update the expertise in species identification of selected families. It also provided an opportunity for participants to interact and discuss with experts on new challenges of marine copepod taxonomy in the molecular era.
